At the early stages of my diagnosis I was still experimenting with the gluten free diet and having issues with dairy and peanuts. Even though I kept an active life style with marching band, dancing, hiking, walking around town, and being a waiter the whole time my weight went up and down. I was 155lbs before the gluten free diet and in three years I still gained 10 lbs, but I did look healthier.
By the time I graduated from massage therapy school I had a better knowledge about how the body functions. My only chose to losing weight was a dietary change even though I was already going through one. This one consisted of getting enough vitamins in me. I looked at vitamins in the store and found most of the time the other ingredients on the bottle was longer then the active ingredients. And there are so many vitamins for different parts of the body on different levels and don’t forget your minerals, what a headache.
Through word of mouth I found Usana Health sciences and Dr. Myron Wentz answered my vitamin and mineral questions with his Essentials™. They provide a wide spectrum of vitamins and minerals made to the highest quality that you can only get through a doctor. And all there tablets and capsules are gluten free. When I started on the Usana Products I started on the Health pak which is the essentials along with two extra tablets a calcium and vitamin D supplement in one and an antioxidant booster. The first month I lost 10lbs and started sleeping better and waking up with more energy. The second month I lost another 10 lbs and started craving fruits and salads. The third month I lost another 10 lbs and my life was forever changed.
It has been three years and I can now have dairy and peanuts again with no problems and my reaction to gluten are not as bad. Also the company has now made gluten free whey protein shack mix and a vanilla soy shack mix and more. Both of these products are made for weight lose, which I didn’t use but wished I did. I wrote about all the other products in another tab.
